These volunteers provided some help in the New Haven area. They helped with some cleanup in the city park and at various senior citizens homes.
New Haven has a full slate of summer ball for all age divisions. Games are played in the city park and in some of the surrounding communities. The New Haven High School Baseball team placed fourth in the state in the 2008 1A Baseball tournament. New Haven won the state championship in 2007 and in 1987.
The New Haven Downtown Artisans hosted the Fire Festival. Artists from throughout the area demonstrated their craft at this festival. The New Haven Riverfront Cultural Society hosts a Farmer’s Market every Thursday in the downtown area, right next to the Missouri River.
Each year, New Haven is host to it’s Youth Fair. The fair includes various activities for the youth, a queen contest, pig scramble, tug-of-war, and ends with a truck and tractor pull on Saturday evening. Every Memorial Day weekend, the local American Legion Post host a homecoming event. |
